Mask Study between 2 rodents

Lab testing shows a reduced transmission of the virus by 16%
Are you going to trust your grandma with those odds?

This Nature article cites NO EVIDENCE that masks work.  They just make a bunch of claims
Their citations.
1st citation – cdc has one person that went to a hairstylist with a mask and didn’t get infect.  That’s NOT a study.
2nd citation – BLM riots.  NOT a study
3nd citation – some overnight youth camp that claimed they followed the recommendations at the time.  again NOT a study
4th citation – The meta study based on presumption of mask use and lockdown country wide.  again NOT a study.
This study was debunked – https://www.r-bloggers.com/2021/03/the-good-the-bad-and-the-ugly-in-the-cdcs-face-mask-study/

I’m waiting for this HARD evidence that masks work.
5th citation – Not found 404 error
6th citation – an opinion article on “all the current evidence” again NOT a study
7th citation – The animal (hamster) in a cage with a mask separation.  The study that scott is referring to.
Mind you this article in nature is like 4 pages long.

Reduced transmission of the virus by 16%

That’s crap.  Because that is with the mask creating a SEALED environment between the 2 cages.
as scott said.  There’s the argument that infected air gets around the mask.  It’s only 16% reduction and the real world tests show a variance of 0.3%
So unless you hermetically seal the mask to your face, you are not going to see any benefits.
